A week’s worth of giving: Mom Monday

The holidaze are upon us, guys. For some of you, I’m just stating the obvious. But for me and others like me, I am really just starting to think about “The Holidays;” what they mean to me, what my plans are and, of course, what to get for my friends and family and put under the tree.* That’s why I’m giving YOU, my fellow procrastinators, this: My ultimate, last minute, way-too-specific gift guide! Come back every day this week for gift ideas, all available right here at pedX and Manifesto (because, let’s be honest, it’s probably too late to have anything shipped.)
Let’s start with the family, shall we?

Vintage-loving Mom

Clockwise from top: Vintage quarter pendant, Snoozer Loser, $49 @ Manifesto; “Wilma” cloche, Goorin Bros., $58 @ both stores; Vintage inspired Harlow jewelry (local!) prices vary @ pedX; Bracelets by Liquid Metal, prices vary @ both stores.

Also good gifts for: Artsy Aunts, Kooky mentors.

Fun idea: Tuck a fun vintage postcard or vintage paper dolls in with the gift for some added flare.

See you tomorrow!
xoxo,
Sally

*Shoot, I forgot to get a tree!

A Girl Can Dream (Dream 1, Act 2)

Hello, fellow dreamers and shoe enthusiasts (en-shoe-siasts?)
When we last delved into Dreamland, I was sleeping on these Cydwoq Recess. Aaaand I still am.
Since we were talking about how versatile this unique shoe is, I wanted to show you how I would dress them up. This would be my ideal outfit for date night, or perhaps an art opening:

Using the Recess as a neutral base, it would be really fun to play around with the trend of the moment, colorblocking. So branch out with punchy spring colors, all in solids, and simple silhouettes. I’d finish this feminine ensemble off with some colorful Harlow earrings and a bold Hobo clutch.
Whaddya think?

12 Days of Christmas

Christmas is upon us, all, and as 2010 comes to a close there is one thing I know: on the first day of Christmas, I would rather not have anyone (my true love or otherwise) give me a partridge in a pear tree. It sounds messy, high maintenance and impractical. I simply do not have the room. But since we have 12 days till Christmas, let me take this opportunity to tell you what I would like, one day at a time. Sound good? Let’s take it from the top.

How about a breathtaking necklace from local jeweler Harlow? This one here is 4 rows of perfection, velvet ruby crystals on an antique bronze chain. Most gals I know would love to have a piece like this in their wardrobe, whether they are a low maintenance girl who would only whip it out for special occasions, or lovely ladies who wouldn’t hesitate to wear a statement-making necklace like this every day.

We are all stocked up on Harlow jewelry here at pedX, so come and check them out- they won’t last long!
And stay tuned, dear readers, we have 11 more days to go!
