Make sure your shoes/boots are clean of dirt and debris before applying any leather treatment to them, and don’t be afraid to treat them every few months depending how often you wear them and the conditions you wear them in. Store your shoes in a dry place when you aren’t wearing them and keep them in a shoe box, or bag, to protect them from dust!

There you have it! Easy peasy. Take care of your shoes and they can last a very long time.

Tis the Season for Cozy Knits!

We sure have been blessed with an amazingly beautiful fall, haven’t we? But as the cold temperatures approach and the rain begins to fall, warm layers and cozy accessories are a must for this girl! Hats, shawls, scarves, and warm gloves are just a few of my favorite things.

Echo, Pistil, and Coal are some of the brands that we carry at both of our locations. They are made from the finest materials. Whether it be wool, spun milk protein, cotton, or cashmere, I’m sure you’ll find something to keep you warm and cozy.

When it gets crisp in the Fall . . .

“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the Fall” ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald

Agreed.

When does Fall start for you? The first morning a nip of frost in the air prompts you to grab a jacket or beanie on your way out the door? When you head to Sauvie Island for pumpkin picking? As fallen leaves begin to carpet the Park Blocks in brilliant gold? On the first day back to school?

I’m an East Coast girl, so I watch for changing leaves and wild geese flying in formation. Back-to-school preparation still excites me too, even though I’m long out of school. I always treat myself to a new journal and weatherproof my boots at this time of year.

Whatever it is that marks your start of Fall, we’re right there with you, enjoying that seasonal ale and the crunch of leaves underfoot (before they inevitably get soggy)!

Skincare Spotlight!

Every night before going to bed, I spend a few minutes in the bathroom washing my face, brushing my teeth, and applying various moisturizers, face masks, and serums. While some may call it frivolous, it's actually one of the few times throughout the day that I spend totally alone in the quiet and has become one of my most beloved and calming rituals. An act of self-care like spending some time taking care of your face can be comforting, soothing, and can help someone reduce stress. If you're interested in incorporating skincare into your daily routine, here are some options for you to try!

BEAUT.E's Charcoal Gel Cleanser and Age Restorative Green Mask

The Age Restorative Green Mask is so easy to use - just mix the clay with water and apple cider vinegar and paste it on your face! It cleanses, tones, and re-hydrates skin, leaving you with a glowing complexion. Pairs well with chocolate and fuzzy socks. The Charcoal Gel Cleanser is great for every day use! This cleanser deep cleans your pores and takes away dirt and makeup.

The Green Tea Serum helps protect skin from the sun and can minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The vitamin C in the Rose Rosehip Body Oil protects skin from environmental damage and reduces redness. This moisturizing oil can also be great for soothing sunburn!

Whether you're looking to create a multi-step routine or just take a moment to yourself, skincare can be a great way to do it. Whether or not you feel stressed out and busy all day - everyone deserves to take some time to themselves! Take care!
